This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
I've got a pocket
Full of holes
Head in the clouds
The king of fools
You've got a ribbon of rainbows
The sun in your eyes
Burning through
Could be I'm happy and sad
Could be I'm losing my head
Over you
Well, you've gotta be crazy, baby
To want a guy like me
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
Crazy
So if I'm dreaming
Don't wake me tonight
If this is all wrong
I don't want it right
'Cause you're the one sure thing
When I get lost in the game
Once again
Hey, I'm a lucky guy
Without a reason and I
Don't understand
Well, you've gotta be crazy, baby
To want a guy like me
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
Crazy (crazy, crazy, crazy)
Well, there must be some kind of mistake
To give your heart away
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
Crazy
Well, you've gotta be crazy, baby
To want a guy like me
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
Crazy
Well, there must be some kind of mistake
To want a guy like me
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
You're cazy, crazy
Well, you've gotta be crazy, baby
To want a guy like me
Yeah, you've gotta be crazy, baby
Full of holes
Head in the clouds
The king of fools
You've got a ribbon of rainbows
The sun in your eyes
Burning through
Could be I'm happy and sad
Could be I'm losing my head
Over you
Well, you've gotta be crazy, baby
To want a guy like me
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
Crazy
So if I'm dreaming
Don't wake me tonight
If this is all wrong
I don't want it right
'Cause you're the one sure thing
When I get lost in the game
Once again
Hey, I'm a lucky guy
Without a reason and I
Don't understand
Well, you've gotta be crazy, baby
To want a guy like me
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
Crazy (crazy, crazy, crazy)
Well, there must be some kind of mistake
To give your heart away
Yeah, you've gotta be out of your mind
Crazy
Well, you've gotta be crazy, baby
To want a guy like me

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
Plastic Bag

Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
Not a breakup song tho is it? its like a exraordinary woman has fallen in love with the oddball and the oddballs like wtf?
That freaking happened to me a year ago with a Marilyn Monroe look alike (and fan) friend of mine at college. I was like, "I'm flattered and no disrepect but you're on drugs."
a little cheezy, but i love it anyway. my wifey likes it too.
great song iva davies has such a great voice (so if im dreaming dont wake me tongiht)
"I've got a pocket full of holes head in the clouds the king of fools you've got a ribbon of rainbows the sun in your eyes burning through"
I love Icehouse lyrics! Very pretty...reminds me of the line from "No Promises":
"You're name on a white sheet, pure lace shot with passion"
Iva Davies= genius.
I really like this song, although 'Street Cafe' ftw.
That new She's Out Of My League movie? Yeah, the lyrics are basically similar to that premise.
Yeah,I'm crazy alright. ;) GREAT SONG. :)
I never get tired of this song. It's brilliantly constructed and Iva's voice is gorgeous. It's dramatic and cheezy-- yes-- but it's fabulous because it combines that drama and cheeziness in the just the right way.
I don't know how credible this is..,but, years ago (many years ago), I had a boyfriend that traveled with Icehouse in Australia...he CLAIMS, the song was written about our breakup. I wanted more than he could give, and they used that as a base to the song...wanting the world, and he could only give what he had to offer....I do know in our parting words he claimed, 'life holds no promises' in regards to a 'perfect life'.... of that, he was right....
