Tell me
Remind me
Chase the water racing from the sky
Always
Beside me
Taste the memories running from my eyes

Nervous flashlights scan my dreams
Liquid shadows silence their screams
I smile at the moon
Chasing water from the sky
I argue with the clouds
Stealing beauty from my eyes

Outside the soundness of your mind
Bathing your soul in silver tears
Beneath a blackened summer sky
Praying for time to disappear

Beneath a summer sky
Under glass moonlight
Night awaits the lamb's arrival
Liquid shadows crawl
Silver teardrops fall
The bride subsides to her survival

By your hand
I've awakened
Bear this honor in my name

Outside the soundness of your mind
Bathing your soul in silver tears
Beneath a blackened summer sky
Praying for time to disappear

Outside the soundness of your mind
Bathing your soul in silver tears
Beneath a blackened summer sky
Praying for time to disappear

General CommentI think we could easily come up with 100 guitarists better than Cobain and Hammet.

Great DT song, one of my favorites.

General CommentI get the feeling this is a story of someone dying. They're having an epiphany and have accepted God. I gather this from lines like "Night awaits the lamb's arrival" and "By your hand I've awakened Bear this honor in my name." And to justify it, the song was written by Petrucci, who was also the writer of "In The Name Of God"(my fave DT song.) another note: this song was the only dream theater song to hit the rolling stone magazines "top 100 solos of all time" which the solo is absolutely amazing in this song...

General CommentYou mmight be right about the story thing kinda sounds like hes talking about someone but anyways this ones one of my other favorite DT songs but my absolute favorite is Take The Time. And I also think your right about the Top 100 solo but if im right it only got like 98 but still amazing solo to get within the top 100

General CommentYes, this song is amazing. The Solo is terrific, as previously stated. This is perhaps my fav DT song, as a matter of fact.

General CommentYeah, who cares about rolling stone magazine - in their top 100 guitarists of all time they don't even have Petrucci, Malmsteen, Micheal Angelo Batio, Jason Becker and heaps of other guys who are surely - objectively, subjectively - better than any one on that list. Yeah, yeah, there are some there for their influence... But come on, does anyone really believe that Kurt Cobain is 12th greatest guitarist of all time?! And at number 11 is Hammet?! What a joke...

Anyway, yeah, I like this song. (Sorry, I got carried away)

General CommentRolling Stone knows nothing about music, at least most of the time, So dont feed in to what they say. I would say that John Petrucci is better or at least as good as Hendrix as far as skill goes, he needs to be in the top 10. Eddie Van Halen needs to be in the top ten too. Also Jimmy Page should be in the 1, 2, or 3 spot, not 9th, come on. Hendrix is no better then these 3 guys. And Colbain??? Thats a joke right, I mean can he play anything harder then the main riff of Smoke on the Water?
