Is it a kind of dream
Floating down on the river
Following the river of death down stream
Oh is it a dream?

There's a fog on the horizon
A strange glow in the sky
And nobody knows where you can go
Or what does it mean
Oh, oh is it a dream

Bright eyes
Burning like fire
Bright eyes
How can you close and fail
How can the eyes that burned so brightly
Suddenly turn so pale?
Bright eyes

Is it a kind of shadow
Reaching over the hill
Wandering over the hills unseen
Or is it a dream

There's a high wind in the trees
A cold sound in the air
And nobody knows where you can go
And where do you start
Oh oh, into the dark

Bright eyes
Burning like fire
Bright eyes
How can you close and fail
How can the eyes that burned so brightly
Suddenly grow so pale
Bright eyes

I love this live song, James Dean Bradfield really does the lyrics justice (as we've come to expect). It was a number 1 for Art Garfunkel back in 1979, and was written by Mike Batt about the death of his father. It's usually associated with the film "Watership Down", but this really is beautiful and harrowing to listen to.

Few minor corrections (at least on the Lipstick Traces cd)

Is it a kind of dream, Floating down on the river, Following the river of death downstream? Oh, is it a dream?

There's a fog on the horizon, A strange glow in the sky, And nobody seems to know where you can go, And what does it mean? Oh, is it a dream?

Bright eyes, Burning like fire. Bright eyes, How can you close and fail? How can the light that burned so brightly Suddenly turn so pale? Bright eyes.

Is it a kind of shadow, Reaching over the hill, Wandering over the hills unseen, Or is it a dream?

There's a high wind in the trees, A cold sound in the air, And nobody ever knows when you can go, And where do you start, Oh, oh, into the dark.

Bright eyes, burning like fire. Bright eyes, how can you close and fail? How can the eyes that burned so brightly Suddenly close so pale? bright eyes.

Bright eyes, burning like fire. Bright eyes, how can you close and fail? How can the light that burned so brightly Suddenly burn so pale? Bright eyes.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
