Why you gotta ask me
Where I been
Why you gotta talk in
That abusing tone
You think the worst of me
You always think I'm
Out doing you wrong

You getting on my
Nerves wit that
Always trusting me when
I'm not home
I really do care for you
But if you keep on girl
We won't last long

[Chorus]
I'm not your last boyfriend
Don't drop that baggage
I won't have it
Stop tripping
I'm not cheating
Please believe me
I'm not your last boyfriend
Don't talk to me like you talk to him
Stop tripping
Stop yelling and accusing
Cause I'm not him

I really can't take all the arguing
Can you talk to me
Without raising your voice
'Cause I'm not understanding you
Sounds like you just
Making a lot of noise
I didn't get down with you

For the things you charged me with
The things he did
Could you please just
Forget the past
'Cause I just can't take much more of this

[Chorus]

Girl I do love you
And you know that I do
But I can't keep on arguing with you
And you say you've been hurt
And I know that's it's true
But I can't keep on paying for what
I didn't do

Yo,yo,yo,yo
You need to stop comparing
'Cause I don't act like
Don't look like
Don't sound like
I'm a treat you right
Got a little more to show

Got more to blow
Talking 'bout more than the one before
Talking 'bout more than the one before
That scrub gotcha, gotcha head all
Messed, up
Gotcha, gotcha rejecting my love
Got me, got me in yo situations
Stuck, stop

[Chorus]

This song means that you should not hold on to baggage from previous experiences and relationships, because everybody is not out to hurt you like your old boyfriend or girlfriend has. Nobody is the same, and you shouldn't have a barrier around your heart because you could be missing out on something very good.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
