"Double Dare" as written by Daniel Gaston Ash, Kevin Haskins, David Jay and Peter John Murphy....
I dare you, to be real
To touch a flickering flame
The pangs of dark delight
Don't cower in night fright

Don't back away just yet
From destinations set
I dare you to be proud
To dare to shout aloud
For convictions that you feel
Like sound from bells to peal
I dare you to speak of your despise
For bureaucracy, hypocrisy- all liars

I dare
I dare
I dare, you, you

General CommentThis song is a challenge to be true to yourself and your ideas. When I saw Bauhaus in '98 this was the first song they did of course. What was especially cool was that the rest of the band came out except for peter murphy. They wheeled a tv out and Murphy was on the tv singing for this song. Very symbolic.

General CommentFairly straight forward. Daring fake politicans to actually act like real people instead of the conservative little muppets they can be.

General CommentIt's about having the balls to stand up, stand out, and do what you want. Stand for something, be a hoodlum, be a freak because no one else has the courage to. Bauhaus is daring you to do what you want, even if you're stoned for it.

General Commentthis one's pretty straightforward. Don't be afraid to stand up for what you beleive in even if its odd and other people degrade you for it.

General CommentI always imagine this song happening in front of a huge cave at night. with two trees at either sides of the entrance. There is a fire and a shaman is dancing wildly arround it while lightning is striking in the background. Another song about being true to yourself. Hair of the dog is a similar album intro.
