I did all the work, my boss got the perks today
I cleaned up the crap, my boss got the cash today
I painted my nails, they told me I was a queer
They kicked in my head and told me to disappear
I'm outta here, cos

The kind of day I've had
It can't get any worse
It feels like I've been born under a bad sign
And I've gotta break the curse

This is a nice place to work, so smile and take it on the chin
He is my supervisor, I must obey him
He is my master, I am his worthless slave
I made a mistake, he took it out of my pay
Thats okay!! Cos

The kind of day I've had
It can't get any worse
It feels like I've been born under a bad sign
And I've gotta break the curse
The kind of day I've had
I should've stayed away
I should have stayed at home watching
Children's television, it's been that kind of day...

Stare at the clock...

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
