You poured your soul/into me
To let me shape/to let me mould you/(mould you)
Turned you deep/to what I was/what I was
You broke my trust/I sold you
So look at me now like I'm nothing
Don't look at me now that I'm nothing
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I/watch/you
Shine
Holding onto what you stole from me/like it was
Mine
Can't lie to myself/not down here
Just when I saw you/as something more
More than/just another clone
Your open heart/closed itself to me
And I was left alone
So look at me now like I'm nothing
(How can) you look at me now like i'm nothing
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I/watch/you
Shine
Holding onto what you had for me/when you were
Mine
Can't lie to myself/not down here
I watch you shine
I watch you shine
To let me shape/to let me mould you/(mould you)
Turned you deep/to what I was/what I was
You broke my trust/I sold you
Don't look at me now that I'm nothing
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I/watch/you
Holding onto what you stole from me/like it was
Mine
Can't lie to myself/not down here
More than/just another clone
Your open heart/closed itself to me
And I was left alone
(How can) you look at me now like i'm nothing
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I watch you shine and burn me
I/watch/you
Holding onto what you had for me/when you were
Mine
Can't lie to myself/not down here
I watch you shine
My view of this song is about a relationship between 2 people, not even a male and woman relationship. In fact, it seems to work better as a father/son deal or male/male deal. Anyway, one wants to control the others future and everything he does so he could be like him, but the other one has different goals on his hands and betrays his friend's want and ends up being successful, hence "I watch you shine and burn me"...
