Dracula Lyrics
Do you believe in destiny?
True love may come only once in a thousand lifetimes...
I too have loved...they took her from me.
I prayed for her soul....I prayed for her peace
I see her face, it comforts me
When I close my eyes
Memories cut like a knife
My sworn enemy...birth of a new creed.
The blood I've spilled for faith fulfilled.
To damn her, a disgrace, you spit back in my face.
I served you loyally, and you spew blasphemy.
The Order of the Dragon, I feed on human life
Come taste what I have seen
I'm spreading my disease
I will feed upon His precious child
The human race will bleed, they will serve my need.
I avenge with darkness, the blood is the life
The Order of the Dragon, I feed on human life
I am the Dragon of blood, a relentless prince of pain
Renouncing God on His throne
My blood is forever stained
I defy the creed that damned her

This song is amazing.. one of the best they've written, but I can't pick a favourite from such great songs. I think this has little to do with vampires and more to do with how he lost his faith in god when his true love was killed. I know loads of examples of this. He still believes in god, but he hates him for what he allowed to happen. Just a theory ~T~

Best Iced Earth song, and one of the best songs in the world ever! It takes references from the book, the 1931 movie and the 1992 movie, and Dracula is NOT Vlad Tepes (and Bram Stoker did not base his vampire on Tepes either, although he was losely inspired by him), Dracula is a man who fights for God, and then God takes his beloved wife (or girlfriend, or whatever...), which pushes him over the edge, so he swears to rise up from the dead and avenge hers with all the powers of darkness.

The first two lines as well as the theme of the story are from the film "Bram Stoker's Dracula" rather than the original novel itself. In this, Dracula is made into a more human character who at one point was Vlad, a man in love who served and fought for God. However, his loved one (thinking Vlad dead) commits suicide and although he prays for her soul, he is told she will end up in Hell for taking her life. Feeling betrayed, he renounces God and swears revenge against him and the human race that serves him.
The following lines sum up Dracula's intentions throughout the film this is based on. "For true love I shall avenge. I defy the creed that damned her!"

Wow i am the first to comment for this song. Great song, about dracula and his love for one chick, don't know more.

I really like this song, actually I think it's my favorit Iced Earth song, when it stars in a very beutifull way, and then explodes in heavyness.

This song is so incredible, especially the first time you hear it. I don't know why Horror Show is so underrated.... most people think its one of their worst.... I think its one of their best!
Oh and I just heard some bad news............................ Matt left Iced Earth.... things just wont be the same without him....

Well, Tim's an adequate replacement, anyway.
Great song.

It's about Dracula (the one starring Gary Oldman), Dark_Out was half right. Although I really don't unerstand how you could be stupid enough to not think it has anything to do with vampires because it's about how Dracula lost his true lvoe, renounced his faith and vowed to come back to life as a vampire to avenge his wife.

actually, this song is about the REAL dracula, Vlad tepes dracula (tepes meaning"the impaler") he is not, however, a vampire but was notorius for arround 40 000 killings in his six year reing over ancient romania, he was given the title tepes after impaling 20 000 turkish soldiers high on pikes stuck into the ground when he was chased out of his kingdom by some sultan guy, after seeing this the sultan called off the attack (after that, wouldnt anyone?)
anyways more to the point. vlad did all this in secrecy and his belived mistress found out he wanted to kill her father and became upset, after a few more years of killings she finally committed suicide by hurling herself over the castle wall and vlad swore to have her back, some how. this is a very true story and believe it or not vlad was a very respected man and people ACTUALLY loved this man, he kept order in their small town.
wicked song..hope you enjoy the history of the man who inspired bram stokers Dracula

oh yeah theres a few movies about him but you should check out Dracula: the prince of darkness very very well written
