I Don't want to make this
Harder then I have to this
Is how it has to be. There's
So many things I want to say but
You just don't listen to me.

[Chorus]
I don't want to hurt you
You don't want to hurt me
I can't stand you and
You can't stand me.
We can't re-arrange we you can never
Change me, say good bye nothing I say
Can change you mind.
Because I can't stay tomorrow I'll
Be on my way. So don't expect to
Find me sleeping in my bed cause
When you wake up I won't be there I won't be there

Everything I say you find away to make it
Sound like I was born just yesterday.
And everything you thought me doesn't
Mean a thing so I am going my way.

[Chorus]

This is the last night that I spend
At home. And it won't take long
For you to notice won't take long for you find out that I am gone.

[Chorus: x2]

[Chorus: x3]
I won't be there

    Song Meaning

Oh this song is pretty good, it basically means

There's this teenager and he's sick of his parents controlling his life, he doesn't want to hurt them and he understands that they don't want to hurt them but he can't take it and just wants to get out of that house.

Every teen can pretty much relate to this!

wouldnt it be odd if this song was actually about leaving home... not a break up... and he is saying that everything his parents taught him doesnt mean anything to him so he is going his way... hmm something to think about

To me this is about just giving up on someone who's causing you problems. When you've had one of those issues where you could fight, scream, kick and yell but not matter what you're gonna end up back at square one, so it's better to just walk away from it all and don't turn back around.

i hadn't realized why i like this song so much until i read that last post... props to you mxpxguy. gotta love the immaturity. sometimes it's best to just be honest and act like you're in middle school again. this is like the best song ever to play in your car and scream the words to...

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
