Do do do do do (x4)

I just got your message baby-
So sad to see you fade away.
What in the world is this feeling?
Catch a breath and leave me reeling!
It'll get you in the end- it's god's revenge.
Oh- I know I should come clean
But I prefer to deceive.
Every day I walk alone
And pray that god won't see me.
I know it's wrong, I know it's wrong.

(Chorus)

Tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby...

They put you in a home to fill in.
But I wouldn't call that living.

I'm like a boy among men,
I'd like a permanent friend,
I'd like to think that I was just myself again.

(Chorus)

Oh tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby...

I just got your message baby,
So sad to see you fade away...

I'm like a boy among men,
I'd like a permanent friend,
I'd like to think that I was just myself again.

(Chorus)

Oh tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby.

Oh tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby.

Do do do do do
C'mon, baby!
Do do do do do (x4)
C'mon, baby
Do do do do do (x2)
Do do do...

Gentle Hour

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
