Do do do do do (x4)

I just got your message baby-
So sad to see you fade away.
What in the world is this feeling?
Catch a breath and leave me reeling!
It'll get you in the end- it's god's revenge.
Oh- I know I should come clean
But I prefer to deceive.
Every day I walk alone
And pray that god won't see me.
I know it's wrong, I know it's wrong.

(Chorus)

Tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby...

They put you in a home to fill in.
But I wouldn't call that living.

I'm like a boy among men,
I'd like a permanent friend,
I'd like to think that I was just myself again.

(Chorus)

Oh tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby...

I just got your message baby,
So sad to see you fade away...

I'm like a boy among men,
I'd like a permanent friend,
I'd like to think that I was just myself again.

(Chorus)

Oh tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby.

Oh tell me why is it
I'm digging your scene?
I know I'll die, baby.

Do do do do do
C'mon, baby!
Do do do do do (x4)
C'mon, baby
Do do do do do (x2)
Do do do...

    My Interpretation

So sad to see you fade away.

It'll get you in the end it's god's revenge."

This song reminds me of a fairy-tale sort of love, but instead of a happy ending, the relationship disintegrates when faced with reality, leaving the girl hopelessly in love with the prince who left her.

"I just got your message baby." Could refer to an actual message, as if the boy couldn't end the relationship in person, so he left a voice message on her phone.

"What in the world is this feeling? Catch a breath and leave me reeling." Love, maybe? Some sort of profound emotion when she realized that their entire relationship was over via voice message? It's not very clear as to how to define it, but the meaning of the lyrics is just as impacting to the listener, even if they can't describe the emotion.

"It'll get you in the end it's god's revenge." A confirmation on the basis of her emotions. Love-sickness, possibly. A lingering feeling of compassion after the break-up?

"Oh I know I should come clean. But I prefer to deceive. Every day I walk alone and pray that god won't see me. I know it's wrong, I know it's wrong." It is unclear what she wants to confess about, but the guilt from keeping it a secret, compounded with the hopeless love that is described in the chorus, reveals a woman with a broken heart, not ready to let go of her persistent devotion.

"I know I'll die, baby." For such an upbeat melody, this song contains dark undertones. Maybe with the end of their relationship came her breaking point, and now she lives on as a destitute lover, waiting for the return of her prince, and if not, then death.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
