Become What You Hate Lyrics
this song is so awesome for anyone whos had like a backstabbing friend or anything to that sort. midtown did this with vinnie from the movie life and they do it awesome live. rock on with this song!
I heard this song was written for the break between them and Drive Thru Records.
thats possible, drive thru took so much money from them that was rightfully theres :(
thats exactly what im thinking. i know some of the lyrics are messed up, because i did it by ear. i'm gonna fix them later today, because i'll copy them from living well is the best revenge. did you read the interview at absolute punk with tyler and gabe? it says alot about the drive thru crap http://www.absolutepunk.net/sub_pages/interviews/files/midtown.htm
Damn, you know what? When i first heard these lyrics i hated it. Don't get me wrong i love midtown and this song, it's just i am pretty much like the person that the song is written about...damn. Good shit tho
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that this song is probably about Drive-Thru. Anyway the weird part is that they took Vinnie's vocals out of the song. I think it sounded WAY better with Vinnie singing that one part, but you know what... if I was Vinnie I wouldn't want to be caught signing a song about how much I hate my own record label either.
i just bought their new disc, Living Well is the Best Revenge. its rad as crap.
this song is about drive-thru. period. they hate drive-thru, suggest u read the interview that was mentioned earlier, but richard and stephany responded to that, and i think u should read both sides. after hearing both sides i have come to a conclusion. midtown puts out a cd, they see NFG's popularity, they do not achieve this, they need someone to blame and they choose there label, for not doing this or that. Drive-thru not talking to them since december dusnt really help though. but none of it matters because midtown is on MCA. so now the question is who's gonna be the next pop star first midtown or dashboard? i think dashboard is gonna b bigger than blink-182 but thats just my guess, and i sure hope it dusnt happen.
I have read both sides of the story, and Drive Thru records has every reason to upset at Midtown. Midtown may write some good songs, but they are down right horrible people. Gabe is a waste of life, he is totally worthless. The worst is when they got mad at Finch for wanting to be tacked onto the bill and play as the doors opened. Midtown screwed over a band on the same label.
Look how they end the song.
"I've been working for Something oh so fake But I'm not working for you no more"
Its pretty direct. There are only a few ways to interpret that and all of them point directly at Drive Thru
