They all said she's just
Another groupie slut
And I said
I thought you were anything but
Think again
Sometimes reputations
Outlive their applications
Sometimes fires don't go out
When you're done playin' with them
I feel so funny deep inside
When you kiss me goodbye

Sugarhigh
Sugarhigh

We could go out
And not even leave the house
A TV set and a bottle of wine's just fine
Makin' out on that old pull-out couch
Watchin' Saturday Night Live
I guess that's why...
I feel so funny deep inside
When I lick between your thighs

Sugarhigh
Sugarhigh... alright!

I have searched both far and wide
And I've explored the deepest caverns of my mind
To try and find an explanation why
I get this funny feeling deep inside
When you kiss me goodbye
And when I lick between your thighs...

Sugarhigh!!

Sugarhigh
Sugarhigh
Sugarhigh

This song is so fucking awesome. Lyrics, instruments and vocals are sublime. It's one of the best (if not) thee best sex song ever and is definetely up there in amazing songs in my book.

Although I enjoyed the version performed in the film, I prefer this version overall. Renees' vocals in the film would not have been bad to have, but they should have kept the original lyrics.

I love the acoustic version of this song you can get on iTunes!

Clearly the song is about sex, and the person likes having sex with whoever they are describing, but I feel like there's something more. I love the second verse...it just sounds like two people who are really good friends and are comfortable with just hanging out around the house with each other. It's lovelyyy. But it sounds like he's confused about his feelings for her...why does he feel so funny deep inside when she kisses him goodbye and when he licks between her thighs?

I think she's not too faithful. At the start, he said that they all thought she was just another groupie slut but he thought she was anything but. Then "THINK AGAIN." Whenever she kisses him goodbye, he gets a funny feeling cuz she's not with him only. Sugar high cuz he loves re still so he's addicted to her sugar...I guess.

No, I think he's saying the people who call her a "Groupie Slut" should think again, that reputation has outlived its application.

I saw Empire Records about a hundred times when I was 10 years old. It's pretty hilarious how smutty the original lyrics are. Clearly the whole point of the song is, "Baby, your cunt tastes delicious!"

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
