"XXX" as written by and Mary Timony....
It's not for free
but I'll take your love
if your love will pay me

I see your wallet in your pocket
You know I carry my heart around my neck
like a locket so I can take it off

Now I feel good, I feel like candy
Go out on the street, I'm gonna make some money
That was just a joke about the money
you're gonna pay me with your life

Out on the corner
Like a fallen Maraschino cherry
I know you're scared to eat me

You got a candy red sports car
My heart is not a sports car
My heart is cab
Your love is a fad
And you're a drag

And now I feel good, I feel like candy
go out on the street I wanna make some money
That was just a joke about the money
you're gonna pay me with your life

You wanna have me
You watch me like TV
You wanna hold me
Collect me like rubies
Talk about me like a movie
You're so dirty

And now I feel good, I feel like candy
I'll get in your car, I wanna make some money
That was just a joke about the money
you're gonna pay me with your life

General Commenti'm so impressed someone submitted this! best song on pirate prude.

the whole album has this vampire/monster/predator theme going on... very dark and seductive.

also, i always thought the "collect me like rubies" line was "collect me like rupees"... ha... guess i was thinking zelda!

General CommentMe, too, I guess...I didn't think anybody else had ever heard this song. Awesome, awesome song by Mary Timony's band. Actually, I DO remember an episode of Beavis and Butthead where they were watching the video to this song and Butthead was saying how her guitar must be broken during the "solo"...(if you would call it such...). Pretty funny. O.K...I guess the song is about prostitution and AIDS...? Has a very "Boston, Mass." sound. Maybe because this song reminds me of my ex-girlfriend's sister, who was a heroin addict / prostitute. She lived in Boston, Mass. I wonder what became of her? Hey, Leeanne, if you read this, Email me, will ya?
