Jessie Lyrics
to tell me how she's tired of all of them.
She says, "Baby, I been thinking 'bout a trailer by the sea.
We could go to Mexico... you, the cat and me.
We'll drink tequila and look for sea shells.
Now, doesn't that sound sweet?"
Oh, Jessie, you always do this every time I get back on my feet.
By now I should know better, your dreams are never free.
But tell me all about our little trailer by the sea;
Jessie you can always sell any dream to me.
Oh, Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me.
but he used to think about you all the time.
We finally took your pictures down off the wall.
Oh, Jessie, how do you always seem to know just when to call?"
She says, "Get your stuff together. Bring Moses and drive real fast."
And I listen to her promise, "I swear to God this time it's gonna last."
By now I should know better, your dreams are never free.
But tell me all about our little trailer by the sea;
Jessie you can always sell any dream to me.
Oh, Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me.
And who knows, maybe this time things'll turn out just the way you planned.
By now I should know better, your dreams are never free.
But tell me all about our little trailer by the sea;
Jessie you can always sell any dream to me.
Oh, Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me.

Such a bittersweet song. I always got the impression it was about someone with manic depression (bipolar disorder).

It was written about Sara jessica Parker. People inaccurately attribute it to John Denver or Elton John but thats wrong....it was wrriten by Kadison about SJP.

such a pretty song

I think the song is about this guy madly in love with Jessie, who is a restless girl and keeps changing her mind about things all the time. They have been split up a few times and every time the guy gets back on his feet she comes up with a crazy idea and promises this time their relationship will last. He knows she will never be 100% satisfied but cant resist her 'you can always sell any dream to me'. I love the song, its so beautiful and you just wish these two that they ll be happy. (Cat Moses is such a nice touch too)

One of the few songs that has ever made me cry. To me, it just seems so sad.

This song was written about Sarah Jessica Parker off Sex and the City... her and Joshua Kadison went out back in the day. Its so weird thinking about that now when I hear this song... putting a face to the name!

Wow...I had no idea this was written about Sarah Jessica Parker....I didn't know they were ever together! Thanks for the enlightening information... As for weather or not it works out for them, check out Georgia Rain....I love that they do end up together in the end, even if they didn't make it to Mexico...

It wasnt written about Sex and the City!
The song was written by John Denver!!

I love this song, always have. It is so pretty and hopeful.. Sad, too..he knows it won't work, but he can't help himself.

I wanna collect shells by the sea! And have a cat called Moses! Damnit! Love the words! It paints a picture of simple days! Tc
Jessie sounds like a Jenny to Forrest Gump
