You cut off all of your fingers
Trade them in for dollar bills
Cake up on some makeup to cover all those lines
Wake up and stop shaking, 'cause you're just wasting time

Don't you want some of this?
Don't you need some of this?

You take, but can't be given
You ride, but cannot be ridden
Pinch this tiny heart of mine, wrap it up in soiled twine
You never read what you've written

I'll be your lover, I'll be forever
I'll be tomorrow, I am anything when I'm high
I'll be your lover, I'll be forever
I'll be tomorrow, I am anything when I'm high

Don't you want some of this?
Don't you need some of this?
Don't you want some of this?
Don't you need some of this?

You shove your hair down my throat
I feel your fingers in me, me
Tear this bitter fruit to mess, wrap it in your soiled dress
Now, you must spit out the seeds

I'll be your lover, I'll be forever
I'll be tomorrow, I am anything when I'm high
I'll be your lover, I'll be forever
I'll be tomorrow, I am anything when I'm high

Anything, when I'm high
Anything, when I'm high

I'll be your lover, I'll be forever
I'll be tomorrow, I am anything when I'm high
I'll be your lover, I'll be forever
I'll be tomorrow, I am anything when I'm high

Anything, when I'm high

All dried up and tied up, forever
All fucked up and dead to the world
All dried up and tied up, forever
All fucked up and dead to the world
All dried up and tied up, forever
All fucked up and dead to the world
All dried up and tied up, forever
All fucked up and dead to the world

    Song Meaning

This is a song about the worm's experience in the world living around the beautiful people. It goes along with the theme of The Dope Show

"There's lots of pretty, pretty ones that want to get you high. But all the pretty, pretty ones will leave you low, and blow your mind."

Pretty, pretty ones = the beautiful people

The song is taken from the worm's point of view.

"You cut off all of your fingers and trade them in for dollar bills. Cake on some more make-up to cover up all those lines. Wake up and stop shaking because you're just wasting time."

This is about the lifestyle he lives, as he had grown up knowing only this lifestyle. He only knew self-satisfaction and drugs because he was raised to believe he needed them.

"Don't you want some of this? Don't you need some of this?"

Basically, its the beautiful people selling people drugs to keep them "sedated" from the reality of how tyrannical they are.

"You take but cannot be given. You ride but cannot be ridden. Pinch this tiny heart of mine, and wrap it up in soiled twine. You never read what you've written."

The worm begins to realise what it is the beautiful people are doing to the masses, and that he'd been living a lie.

"I'll be your lover, I'll be forever, I'll be tomorrow, I am anything when I'm high."

How the drugs he's sold makes him feel. Another line about him realising the lies he'd been living.

"You shove your hair down my throat. I feel your fingers in me. Tear this bitter fruit to mess, and wrap it in your soiled dress. Now you must spit out the seeds."

More about the worm realising what had been happening.

He slowly begins to realise the way he'd been living, and others as well.

Allright here's my interpretation when manson says "You cut off all of your fingers/trade them in for dollar bills" That's probably about finding someway to support your habbit. "Cake on some more makeup to cover all those lines/wake up and stop shaking/'cause you're just wasting time" quite possibly about relapsing. "Don't you want some of this?/Don't you need some of this?" Maybe about withdrawl or physically needing something. That's all i have right now

Most of this album appears to have Mazza in full on strop at "The Beautiful People", or as I prefer to label them "conformist scum". I think this is about it - and how he's been used by one of them. Hence all the imagery about his heart and wrapping things up in soiled dress. Maybe he's got over it with drugs. It's a very angry song tho which is why it rocks so mightily.

I think there is a line missing. After "Wake up and stop shaking" I think it should say "because your just wasting time" Maybe I'm wrong though...I usually am

You know by ranting like that, it's just another meaningless comment, you did the exact thing you were bitching at people for.

This song is about hiding your secrets and acting perfect when ou (like everyone else) are quite flawed.

I have read a Long Hard Road Out of Hell and i am quite sure that this song is what MM views as the best on the album. It is his interpretation of how his life was heading, a brutal realisation of his state of mind, doing coke, referring to the dollar bills which he snorted through. I'll be your lover/I'll be forever/I am tomorrow/I am anything when I'm high reflects the drug culture that he found, people delirious to the real world.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
