Red Light Lyrics
Voyeur sucks into focus-floodlit the glossy kiss-pit but as emulsion drips down...down
the aperture shuts-too much exposure
Come into this room-Come into this gloom See the Red light rinsing another shutter-slut wincing the sagging half-wit sister
pretty, pretty picture
of an ancient nipple shrinking-that Kodak-whore winking 'til the aperture shuts-too much exposure.

well its a song about models and the such but its good shit

Seems to be a criticism of the fashion world.

I don't think song is about models.
"Too much exposure" - Pornograghic images?
"Come into this gloom" - This industry.
Red light generally makes you think of, ya know, whores. Red Light district, blah blah.

Agreed with Skully... totally about a porno shoot.

The lyrics started out life as a piece of automatic writing by Steven, who then used cut ups which resulted in the phrases 'kodakwhore' and 'shutterslut'.
As for the meaning of the song, it is kind of self-explanatory, denouncing the pornography industry.

I would think it had nothing specific to do with pornography at all,
Merely a description of the fashion, model, celebrity industry and in particular the rise of models as celebrities as was happening at the time.
The red light is a photography 'safe' light that would on in the dark room, also be on the outside to indicate that the dark room was in use,
Come into this room Come into this gloom See the red light rinsing
The rinsing is washing the developer fluid of the film or paper to stop further development of pictures, A dark room is dark and gloomy (and smells of ammonia)
Kodakwhore and shutterslut are the same as we would use attention whore or facebook slut now
