He's moving into an art deco pad
To swell the ranks of the clinically sad
Shaking off the past with a change of address
But keeps his telephone number and hopes for the best

He makes a list of all his favourite friends
Then leaves his footprints on the steps that shine
With tears that he has wept again... and again...
He bought his clothes from a skateboard boutizue

Hung around in places where nobody speaks
Got on line to an internet club
Played trivial pursuit with the goddess of love
And counted his imaginary friends, got up to ten,

Lost count and then went out to walk the streets
'Til god knows when
He met a girls who liked a bit of a laugh
He gained the youth that he'd forgotten to have

So now they mess about with things that are highly illegal
Often get mistaken for interesting people
And no-one ever seems to ring their bell
But do they care, well do they hell

They're gonna kiss and never tell again... and again...

    My Interpretation

My interpretation of the song is about a man who moves away from his old social group, not feeling satisfied with his life.

Shaking off the past with a change of address

He makes a list of all his favourite friends Then leaves his footprints on the steps that shine With tears that he has wept again... and again... He bought his clothes from a skateboard boutique He looks back and realises he didn't have much, and he tries to reinvent himself, my opinion is that the 'skateboard boutique' is supposed to show that it's a radical reinvention that makes him into something he isn't.

And counted his imaginary friends, got up to ten, Even after that he still feels empty inside, friendless, and bored, doing the same old lonely things all the time. Now he feels as though he doesn't have any friends at all, when at least before he had a few.

He met a girls who liked a bit of a laugh He gained the youth that he'd forgotten to have Eventually he meets a girl who makes him feel excited and young again. They go around town and have fun, and he gets to make up for how miserable he'd been in the past.

So now they mess about with things that are highly illegal Often get mistaken for interesting people And no-one ever seems to ring their bell But do they care, well do they hell They start doing drugs a lot, and other people perceive them as exciting people, with a cool lifestyle. Nobody ever calls them out on living irresponsibly, or that they aren't actually interesting or fulfilled.

They're gonna kiss and never tell again... and again... Inside he still feels empty, but he decides not to let anybody know, and he settles down with this girl for an empty relationship that he can kid himself is better than what he left behind.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
