Well, I think that there's a problem here
Her voice just don't sound right
Left myself on her answering machine
Said, "I'm back in town tonight"

I feel I've stepped out of the wilderness
All squint-eyed and confused
But even babies raised by wolves
They know exactly when they've been used

See, when it starts to fall apart
Man, it really falls apart
Like boots or hearts, oh, when they start
They really fall apart

Ooh, fingers and toes, fingers and toes
Forty things we share
Forty one if you include
The fact that we don't care

Now you've blocked off most of Main Street
For your faith parade
Well, everyone in town, now, they probably all agree
I'm lying in the bed I made

See, when it starts to fall apart
Man, it really falls apart
Like boots or hearts, oh, when they start
They really fall apart, well, fall apart

Well, you won't even let me talk to you
We got some air to clear
Well we'd probably only agree on one thing anyway
That's what the hell is happening here?

Oh, fingers and toes, fingers and toes
Forty things we share
Oh, forty one if you include
The fact that we don't care

See when it starts to fall apart
Man, it really falls apart
Like boots or hearts, oh, when they start
They really fall apart, well, fall apart

General CommentWow. This is another sweet (or should I say bitter) breakup song. I would go on explaining this song, but I think it's pretty obvious. Two lovers are growing apart, and they're starting to get confused about why they don't agree on anything anymore.

General CommentA bitter breakup song...and it's one of the better ones I've heard. These guys can write the tunes and they make it sound like a country song. They rock out!

General CommentI agree, and i love the comparison of it "falling apart" to "boots or hearts", haha it's so clever and true!

General Commenti don't think this song is bitter at all.
i think it's about a sexual relationship that he tried to make into something more.

"but even babies raised by wolves
they know exactly when they've been used"

You don't think anyone who knows they've been used is bitter?

"now you've blocked off most of main street
    for your faith parade"

Seems a little bitter at how self-centered this person is.

General CommentSweet song, I love the comparison to run down boots.

Like stated above, basically about what happens when a relationship is based only around sex. I guess it's kind of bitter, not in the sense that his heart is broken or anything... he's just realizing it was what it was, and is almost amused about how silly their relationship was.
