my diet pill is wearing off
sewn in the sheets with thread
the twins are in the car
the frying pan is red
no, Calgon can't take me away
from the things i did today
sewn in the sheets with thread
the twins are in the car
the frying pan is red
i'm so outta here
i'm outta here
i said i think that the swelling is going down
two hundred dollars to leave this town
sewn in the sheets with thread
the twins are in the car
the frying pan is red
i'm so outta here
i'm outta here

I like this song. The narrator kills her husband (boyfriend?) with a frying pan, stuffs him in the matress and takes off.
"Calgon take me away" of course is a reference to the soap commercial. There's no easy solution for her predicament.

The song is about a woman that was in an abusive relationship. While high on amphetamines (diet pill), he beats her up- "I think the swelling is going down." and she kills him with a frying pan (red, because of the blood). She body bags him with sheets. Now, she's coming down from the high, and is getting ready to take off with her twin kids who she put in the car while she cleans up the mess (and sings this song). She only has $200 to her name.

So I think the woman killed her husband who was abusive towards her and her kids. She grabbed her kids (the twins) and is taking off in the car.

Its about to being really bad about own life, own family, the rules in society...it's sickly. Just Francine in "Polyester" (by John Waters), but in real life, no reason to laugh.

Its the typical american family thats expert in disguising the ruin, ripped by crisis, and only conserved in alcohol and "diet pills". The problems continues till death...seems nothing can destroy the beautiful family portrait dispite all.

Guys, this song's about prescription drug abuse/addiction. Makes sense, if you think about it.

I don't know if i'm right but it just feels like it's about a housewife who leaves her husband, leaves the stove on, leaves the kids and just abandons everything. Leaves everything in a total state and gets the hell out of there.

Get the hell out while you still can!

Get the hell out while you still can!
