Lay Your Head Down Lyrics
Nowhere is the soul I felt
Now I've lost my way
Nowhere is the place I've been
Promise not to stay
How it was and always is
Sometimes it never will begin
And it won't take very long (too long)
If you come around
If it all goes wrong
You can lay your head down
Nothing is inside the hollow shell I left behind
Nothing left of innocence
It's drifting with the tide
How It was and always is
May be it never will begin
And it won't take very long (too long)
If you come around
If it all goes wrong
You can lay your head down
Now I've lost my way
Nowhere is the place I've been
Promise not to stay
How it was and always is
And it won't take very long (too long)
If you come around
If it all goes wrong
You can lay your head down
Nothing left of innocence
It's drifting with the tide
May be it never will begin
And it won't take very long (too long)
If you come around
If it all goes wrong
You can lay your head down

My thoughts about this song are that the person in this song is thinking about his current problem, and it appears that he has grown frustrated. He is concerned about his significant other who he loves but does not want to hurt because of his past or current problem. He wants the significant other to stay, to remain by his side. I think that's what it is about from my point of view. It is a lovely song, Screaming Trees rock!
