Hitched a ride to the peaceful side of town
Then proceeded where thieves were no longer found
Can't crash now I've been waiting for this
Won't crash now I found some encouragement
Precious declaration reads
Yours is yours and mine you leave alone now
Precious declaration says
I believe all hope is dead no longer

New meanings to the words I feed upon
Wake within my veins elements of freedom
Can't break now I've been living for this
Won't break now I'm cleansed with hopefulness
Precious declaration says
Yours is yours and mine you leave alone now
Precious declaration says
I believe all hope is dead no longer

Once I jumped thru hoops of fire
High and far as you required
I was blind but now I see
Salvation has discovered me

It kind of reminds me of divorce. Like when he says "Yours is yours and mine you leave alone now", like his awful ex wife doesn't get it anymore...and then the last verse, "Once i jumped through hoops of fire...." as if he did everything she said, but now he's free. But I know a lot of people don't agree with this one.

sorry guys, but I am pretty sure that this song is about the biz and how collective soul went through some tough times with the record company. . jumping through hoops of fire. . "Yours is yours and mine you leave alone now" refers to compensation issues etc . . .its funny how collective soul and pumpkins have bickered or had a fued and they both hate the industry that they're in . .oh well, still love the music. .

only alley really makes a lot of sense. A lot of people always seem to confuse Collective soul's music as having a christian theme just because he uses a lot of words like "salvation", and "hope" and "soul", but he seems to use those words mainly because those words just sound very poetic.

Isn't this the sexiest opening riff ever though...It's kind of similar to "Naked" by Reef. I think that it is about started your life over again. Being born again by Jesus and believing that everything you do is for a reason.

this song reminds me of what its like to have someone who makes life worthwhile. when i was first getting of the streets it didn't seem worth all the hassle of holding down a job just to make a better life for myself, it was worth it to make a better life for me and my friend who was living with me.

To me, this song is about learning to live, and learning to let things come and go... if that makes any sense.

What does this song mean to me? To me Precious Declaration is declaring salvation. The song is about being saved by Christ. The line "I believe all hope is dead no longer" speaks that he's found a renewal of hope and is filled w/ this newfound hope. In the last part of the lyrics he says "I was blind but now I see Salvation has discovered me." His eyes were opened to truth. God draws people to Him, hence "Salvation has discovered me." God called him and now he's been saved. Thats what it means to me.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
