I'm coming up for air
I feel the world around me
Crumble in despair
Everything feels empty

I'm coming up for air
Cause everything feels thicker
And I wonder if you care
Cause my time is fading quicker

I don't have the answers
To why you feel so hurt
You can cry on my shoulder
Before it gets worse

Remember in the kitchen when you said goodbye
I had to grab my shirtsleeve there were tears to hide
Departing my old lifestyle and departing you
Which was more important? Neither felt so true

I'm coming up for air
Hopefully there's some left
It never is too easy
To pass all these tests

I don't have the answers
To why you feel so hurt
You can cry on my shoulder
Before it gets worse

Maybe I just think way too much
About your perfume and your warm touch
I threw away all the letters you wrote
Except for that one last goodbye note

And the air is depleted
There's nothing left
You took the rest

So I'll have to start life over
But you're gone
So you won
So you won

This is the first song I've downloaded from Abreaction, but I plan on getting more. He sounds like Dashboard Confessional (i'm sure most of you have already thought of that) which is one of my favorite bands to listen to. Can't wait to hear more.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Alma Matters
Morrissey
The man has pseudo-friends who constantly criticize his actions. They moralize him, "teach" him and advise him to make a significant change in his life, because the way he is and what he does is not what they say it should be. They may find his life lame or immoral. They hold themselves up as role models. The man replies that he will make his own choices and decisions and he does not agree to unconditionally make himself under the influence of questionable quality advice. He justifies this by saying that there is always someone for whom he will be important, no matter what he does and no matter what he is. Although it is not said directly, I read it as meaning that he will always be important to himself in every way and he will always have his own support. "Everyone is different and maybe that's a good thing, but you exceeded that mark 1000 times" - I remember very well how sad the words I once heard (from my peers and it was in negative context) at school made me feel.
