"hung our clothes on the floor" letting their clothes fall on the floor "they trust in these closed doors" which means they are doing it behind closed doors and they hope no one will try to come in

I think Lord Pembroke is on the right track.. Although I feel the song is about a couple who are madly in love who are throwing a party at there house. All their friends come and they have a good time, 'I swore this life is worth the wait.' he's saying he's waited a long time to find a relationship this good, now he's here it was worth the wait. The ending is a little complex though, it might mean they met at a previous party and are re-living what they first went through.
