I feel better
I feel better now you've gone
I got better
I got better, I got strong

I feel better
I feel better, now there's nothing wrong

I got better
I got better, I got strong

Tell me something
Tell me something I don't know
Tell me one thing
Tell me one thing, let it go

I got something
I got something heaven knows

I got something
I got something I don't know

The gretaest thing about this song is that although the lyrics are simple, they are incredibly affective. I often feel that people on this service analyse the lyrics too much, but with this song the meaning is very obvious. Thom Yorke never trys to hide his emotions in his songs and i think his repetition of the phrase, "it's getting better" shows that it's not getting better at all, and that in fact, he loves her so much, he cant live without her. Listen to this song after you break up from a relationship and the sheer simplicity, overwhelming heartache (in both the lyrics and the guitar) and the immense beauty will move you to tears.

He's over her. But then the last four verses reveal that really he's only trying to kid himself and deep down he wants to hear that she loves him (tell me something).

And I got something. Means he still has feelings for her...

Oh, wow, initially I thought this was more of an optimistic song. No wonder it was screwing with my emotions. Every time I hear this song, my heart aches and I'm ready to burst into tears. You're right, it's not getting any better for him and you can feel so much from this song.

this song isn't about denial, itz about escaping from a bad relationship so he feels better about himself, but the reason the song is sad is that he is now alone and that is never a good feeling. At the end he is looking forward saying that he has something that he still needs to unlock from within himself, but he doesn't want to yet because he is still coping with lonliness

it does sound pretty much like a denial song. I agree with Vince with the fact that it's not getting better at all. It's obviously shown in the last line, "I got something I don't know"

Everyone who hates on Pablo Honey should listen to this song, it's the best on the album (and I'm not just partial to it because of my name).

Hey, I was listening to some shoegaze the other day, I think it was a song by Lush and it reminded me of this song. It struck me that Radiohead started in Oxford when shoegaze was popular in London and along the Thames. Would anyone else say this song and perhaps other songs from Pablo Honey have a shoegaze influence?

I agree oh so much, they're so simple but they still have so much meaning you can draw, brilliant.

Forever I thought the same thing you all did. Really though it's about shaking a nasty illness. Could be love, who knows? Look up the definition of a 'Lurgee'. Regardless it's still a kick ass track and I'm shocked and almost offended that there were only 6 posts on this song. BTW I heard this live and it ROCKED!

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
