never survive at your no-go grocery store
and if you believe that boy will sit down and I will tell you more
Lee Harvey Oswald, well you know he had to have known
Charlie Manson, only wanted to make his house a home

CHORUS:
Jesus was an alien, flying through space
God was an astronaut, using what I like, your faced how the story began

girl I love you, well the check is in the mail
found religion inside myself, I drank the blood, the flesh was stale
reach in your pockets and give us all you can
know the one that’s going to heaven, is gonna be the richer man

(CHORUS) x 2

I see ya shakin boy, do ya find it hard to believe
that the one you been living for would cut your wrists to watch you bleed
found out the truth is a lie, and it makes you feel unwell
say the church of all mighty god is all we have to save us from hell

(CHORUS) x 2

First off, I love matchbox twenty. I heard of Tabitha's Secret while searching for mb20 stuff on the net. I purchased the CD, and found it to have the same style, but the lyrics were a tad different. This song, for example, and it just so happens that this is one of my favorite on the CD. Personally, I believe that Rob Thomas (what a hunk) is downing religion. Specifically the ones that have people on the TV trying to get citizens to send their money to the specific church group. Hence, "Girl, I love you when the check is in the mail...found religion inside myself, I drank the blood, the flesh was stale...reach in your pockets and give us all you can...know the one that's going to heaven is gonna be the richer man". Almost as if he's saying that the more a person gives to the church, he/she increases their chance of getting to heaven. Also, the lyrics "I see you shaking boy do you find it hard to believe...that the one you been living for would cut your wrists to watch you bleed...say that the truth is a lie said it makes you feel unwell...I say the church of the almighty dollar is all we have to save us from hell" mean that maybe this song is about someone who was at first decieved by the church's ploy to get money, and then realized what was going on, but still refuses to believe it. "Say that the truth is a lie said it makes you fell unwell...say the church of the almighty dollar is all we have to save us from hell." A very interesting song...one of the deepest lyrics I've heard from tabitha's secret or matchbox twenty. As for "jesus was an alien flying through space, god was an astronaut who said boy I like your face so the story began" might be conveying the absurdity of religion. Don't you people start sending me angry comments saying I am against Christianity, because I'm not. I respect all of the world's religions; I'm just giving my input as to the meaning of the song. Sorry this was kinda long.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
