From the very first time I rest my eyes on you,boy
My heart said follow through but I know now
That I'm way down on your line
But the waiting feeling's fine

So don't treat me like a puppet on a string
Because I know how to do my thing
Don't talk to me as if you think I'm dumb
I want to know when you're gotta come, you see

I don't want to wait in a vain for your love
I don't want to wait in a vain for your love
I don't want to wait in a vain for your love
Cause summer is here
And I'm still waiting there
Winter is here
I'm still waiting there

Like I said
It's been three years since I'm knocking on your door
And still I can knock some more
Ooh boy, ooh boy, is it crazy look, I want to know now
For I to knock some more, you see

In life I know
That there is lots of grief
But your love is my relief
Tears in my eyes burn
Tears in my eyes burn
While I'm waitin'
While I'm waitin' for my turn, you see

I don't want to wait in a vain for your love
I don't want to wait in a vain for your love
I don't want to wait in a vain for your love
Cause summer is here
And I'm still waiting there
Winter is here
I'm still waiting there

Like I said
I don't want to,I don't want to
I don't want to,I don't want to
I don't want to wait in vain
I don't want to,I don't want to
I don't want to,I don't want to
I don't want to wait in vain

It's been three years since I'm knocking on your door
And still I can knock some more
Ooh boy, ooh boy,is it crazy look, I want to know now
Like I said, the tears in my eyes burn
Tears in my eyes burn
While I'm waiting
While I'm waiting for my turn, you see
Ooh boy, ooh boy, is it crazy look, I want to know now
For I to knock some more
In life I know there is lots of grief
But your love is my relief

Ah Serendipity. GREAT soundtrack. I went through a phase where this song was on repeat constantly. Very pure lyrics.

I used to think it was about a woman who loved a man for a long long time, but for whatever reason, that love wasn't being reciprocated... I don't know whether she was loving from a distance? Loving while he was with another? Or maybe even loving while he was loving another? But something in the song told me he was dropping little pieces of ideas at her feet, ideas that were giving her the impression he is interested... but nothing was coming out of it, hence why she felt she is waiting in vain.

Now, when I hear it, I see a much simpler notion. She wants her turn at love. She's been waiting for a while, sees change in seasons, but not in herself and love. Perhaps she wonders if there's a flicker of something, a possible relationship, but secondguesses herself ("Am I crazy? Am I crazy? No, I wanna know...").

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
