I can remember when we first met
we really had some times
when the success started to kick in
life turned into a mess

Why can't we still be friends?
Why judge me for what I am?
Can we go back again?
I'm still the same man.

You figured out really who I am
you'll bet your life on that
why can't you see me for what I am
where human don't forget that (that)

Why can't we still be friends?
Why judge me for what I am?
Can we go back again?
I'm still the same man.

Stand around, don't follow me around
playing me like a clown
facing life not real (not real)
life not real (not real)
life not real (not real)

Why can't we still be friends?
Why judge me for what I am?
Can we go back again?
I'm still the same man.

SAME man!! (4x)

Jonathan had a friend, but when Korn became famous, his friend don't like it and go away, because he though that Jonathan was diferent now.

This song is cool. I can relate to this song. I had a friend who was like my shadow. Then in Jr. High, I was accepted into accelerated classes and he wasn't. Now he hates me for it. Not there best song, but it still kicks ass. By the way, It's on the U.K. single of "Got the Life". I recomend downloading it if you can't get it.

the lyric writing on the song is pretty pathetic, but its delivered so fucking well! i always saw it as a boy meats girl, boy fucks up, girl judges harshly type thing..

It's about how Korn and the Deftones hate each other now, 'cos Chino was being an asshole.

I either see this song as being about how a guy and a girl have something really special and good going on together, but then he becomes successful in a big way [I.E. Getting in to a band and the band making it big] and the girl thinking that he doesn't put her first any more and think of her before money, fame and that junk or he's being an ass to her now. Second theory: Two friends grow apart for various reasons. One misses the other and wants to repair the damage, but the other rejects this and basically has a fuck-off attitude towards him. I relate easily. I had a friend in junior high who later became my boyfriend and then just a friend again who said that I had changed and was not myself any more, but all that I ever tried to do was be nice to him so I have like no fucking clue what the hell was up his ass. Hmmm... On second thought, I don't wanna know. Lol.

Actually it's not about the Deftones, Donnie T. Last year they did (Korn and Chino) Wicked together during The Family Values Tour. But the song is pretty obvious. Later

The way I look at is that it's about somebody who is gay and came out to a friend, and now the friend hates him. Not saying that's what it IS about, but I interpret it that way.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
