Eyes Wired Shut

This song reminds me of the transition between high school and college.

The lyrics remind me of how in high school you had to be popular to fit in, not to change, and to always have someone around.

As you move to college you realize that you're getting older and all that bs from high school doesn't matter anymore. You're not worried as much about failing (socially mind you) and you don't have to believe in "lies" to fit in. And now that you're in college, you make it back to who you truly are.

In my opinion this song is about living with PTSD.

Referring to not being able to see things the way you want to

"Running through my brain"

Referring to being tormented by your own thoughts

Also when he says "I throw it away" that's saying he is trying to get away from the things that are making it worse. In the video too at the beginning they show a picture of a war hero. We all know how common PTSD is in the military.
