It's more of the Adam and Elisabeth saga. He's reached a point of realizing that it's not Elisabeth he really wants ... he's just addicted to having her. So much of his time has been codependent on what she's doing that now he just doesn't know what to do. He learns to seperate love from addiction because love is eternal and addiction is damaging.

i think its about him going out and having a good time, and having sex... and then fooling himself that it is love. and deep down he knows that it means nothing, but he just wants to ignore it, and doesnt really care. some parts he's is trying to convince this woman that it could be love, and that he's a good catch... then towards the end he accepts that it was just fun, and he's saying "i deserve it, i knew it all along" sort of thing... and so he decides to just fuck it and go and have a good time again.

I think it is about a girl that is infatuated with him and is blinded by it, sees all these things she likes and wants, but what she really needs isnt there. She is blinded by infatuations and believes it to be love, and is addicted to this image shes made of him.

I love this song and I am super shocked that it wasn't put on the A side. I'm glad it was put on the deluxe album because it might be my favorite song and I have heard them all. I love Adam's poet lyrics. His lyrics have only grown and they were significant from the start. Forever one of my favorite artists of all time. True meaningful music. As it should be.
