This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
You can hardly wait to tell all your friends
How his kisses taste sweet like wine
And how he always makes your heart skips a beat
Everytime he walks by
And if you're feeling down, he'll pick you up
He'll hold you close when you're making love
He's everything you've been dreaming of
Oh, Baby
CHORUS
I wish you look at me that way
Your beautiful eyes looking deep into mine
Telling me more than any words could say
But you don't even know I'm alive
Baby to you, all I am, is the invisible man
Yeah, oh ..... you don't see me, baby
You probably spend hours on the phone
Talking 'bout nothing at all (talking 'bout nothing at all)
It doesn't matter what the conversation
Just as long as he calls
Lost in a love so real, and so sincere
And you wipe away all those tears (all the tears)
Your face lights up whenever he appears
CHORUS
SPOKEN:
(You don't see me) I see you all the time, baby
(You don't see me) The way you look at him
(You don't see me) I wish it was me, sweetheart
Boy, I wish it was me
But I guess it'll never be
CHORUS 2X
(The Invisible Man) You don't see me girl
But I love you, yes, I love you
(The Invisible Man) Oh ... oh ... oh ... yeah
(The Invisible Man) Baby, Baby, Baby ..... yeah
(The Invisible Man)
How his kisses taste sweet like wine
And how he always makes your heart skips a beat

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
i don't like boy bands in general but i like this song...and yes, we can be invisible girls too (it works the other way around you know)
i love this song, its so beautiful, im not a huge 98 degrees fan but its such a pretty song to all those who have ever been an invisible man
well but I know there's this guy who feels like being the "invisible man" to me and ... well I don't know, sure it might be hard for him, but I don't think I need to hide my feelings for this other guy just b/c someone else don't wanna face the way it is... but on the other hand it is not nice to see someone is sad b/c I like someone else... well not that easy. :/
I thought this was a really beautiful song and something that most guys are able to relate to. I don't like much of 98 Degrees' music, but this song meant a lot to me.
This was always one of my favorite songs by them. The first I ever heard by them back in the day. Its obvious what it is about. A guy who REALLY likes a girl but she is really into some other guy. And the guy that likes her is invisible to her. He is sure he could love her better.
it's about unrequitted love plain and simple, guys is in love with a girrl but girls doesn't even notice him
