Well, the night makes moves
And she shatters like broken glass
Better play it cool, better let it pass
Have you been screening your smokes?
And whispers in an all night bar
Better off as the fool
Than the owner of that kind of heart

They don't know you anyway
They don't know you and they don't watch you walk away
Just a nobody girl
With a radar to the scene
When the emptiness finds you
You find all the numbers you need
Say you follow your heart
Well, honey you're just being los
You could follow your gut
But how much would it cost?

They don't know you anyway
They don't know you
They don't watch you walk away

You're nobody, girl
You're nobody, girl
You're a nobody, girl

You're nobody, girl
You're nobody, girl
You're a nobody, girl

The night plays games
And the people they come and go
Well, they trade in their pieces
For a late-night ride on your rodeo
If your horses could talk,
I wonder if they would complain
I know they're rested and ready
They've been going nowhere for days

They don't know you anyway
They don't know you,
They don't even mind the weight

'Cause you're a nobody, girl
You're nobody, girl
You're a nobody, girl

You're a nobody, girl
Nobody, girl
Nobody, girl

You're a nobody, girl
Nobody girl
You're a nobody, girl

You're a nobody, girl
Nobody girl
You're a nobody, girl

You're a nobody, girl
You're a nobody girl
You're nobody, girl

it's the saddest song i've ever heard. i love listening to it, but i hope it never relates to my life.

I finally started to listening to Ryan Adams during a period of my life where I thought I had it right for once. I was the one running around in all directions but it was my choice and if I wanted to sleep with whoever, whenever, it was what I wanted. Some people think perpetually single girls who don't date but just have fun are sad or pathetic when in fact it's the complete opposite. Is it really so sad? I've changed but I still envy the girl who doesn't give a fuck what anyone else thinks and does whatever feels good at the moment. The hustle keeps you on your toes knowing you don't have to depend on anyone but yourself. I'd rather be a nobody girl then the wrong someone's girl.

Ryan is clearly channeling Lou Reed on this song. Gritty, almost punitive lyrics, fantastic chord progression, but the kicker is the bridge and chorus. Pure Lou Reed.

One musical genius sending up another.

Weighing in at just over 9 and a half very short minutes, this is one fantastic song.

I can see this song being written for an aspiring actress in L.A. or NY trying to make but hving to be a waitress or bartender to make ends meet. The first verse seems to be about a waitress who dropped a glass or something along those lines. Phenomenal song, perfect chord progression, and a lyrical genius. Great combination.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
