to watch the leaves grow on the trees with you is out of question
i walk into this summer all alone the usual session
you feel your instinct then you act but was it your intention
to leave me down and broken now you've ended out ascension
yeah
i still can feel the beach sand in my shoes
remember when we talked along the ocean's song til blue from black
fade in
but that was then i learned to live without you far within
i ask you why you're back to try to let me lose again
you brought me here you wet my taste
you disappear without a trace
it wasnt me who made the call
cuz now i wanna be
where you sleep where you laugh where you breathe
and i hate to say still i sway brown your eyes gone away
should i feel some closure i deserve that at least
and would you be so kind to show reasons for your release
you woke me up form a distant past i left behind complete
the message that you sent that night now falls to bittersweet
was it me my honesty you fail to show i' never know
it wasn't me who made the call
was it me my honesty
you fail to show i never know
you brought me here you wet my taste you disappear without a trace
did youthink i'd lead you wrong
just know i'll save all of our moments that we are
someday you'll with you never...

This is my favorite song on the CD. It has a great meaning to me. It reminds me of this guy, my first love ya know? No matter how much I got hurt or how far away from me he was, I wanted to always be with him. At times I still do. This part touches me the most: should i feel some closure i deserve that at least and would you be so kind to show reasons for your release you woke me up form a distant past i left behind complete

The first time I heard this song I almost burst into tears. It's an absolutely beautiful song.

To me it's talking about a guy who's in love with a girl, but she left him. So throughout the song he's singing about how he wants to sleep by her, be near her, hear her laughter once again, and all that stuff.

Though, that's just me, and I'm probably wrong...

To me this song is my relationship with my ex g/f. I love her to death, i would do anything for her, but I know i need to get over her, and everytime i feel like i am over her, she calls, we hang out, and i feel everything i felt for her all over again and i wanna tell her that i wanna be, where you sleep, where you laugh, where you breathe. and i can't because as much as I hate not being able to really be with her the way I want, if i let her know how much i still care for her, i feel though i might not see her at all, it's like an addiction in a way, i need to feel her even though its killing me not being able to be with her. That's what this song means to me, Alyssa I Love you.

This song means a lot to me. It fits perfectly with my life right now. The very first verse:

"To watch the leaves grow on the trees with you is out of question. I walk into this summer all alone the usual session. You feel your instinct then you act but was it your intention, to leave me down and broken now you've ended our ascension."

It almost hurts reading and listening to this song, but I can't stop. This song is so beautiful. The music... The words... They all fit together prefectly. I love this song so much! But... gosh it hurts.

first nine days is just... AMAZING! I "absolutely" love them and I can't understand why people don't like them so much. well this song is about loving a person you got to know very good, so you always "wanna be" wherever that person is. But then this person you used to love "dissapear without a trace" and he/she lefts you all alone still wishing to be wherever they are! I think the line "Someday you'll wish you never go" is like you know that person will regret what they did to you.

    It's about love... well duh.

Reminds me of my first love... well I still love her. Every time the pain starts to go away we'll end up talking somehow and all my feelings overpower me and I just keep wondering why she had to call me. I just want to be hers and be near her... but she has different plans. Typical break-up song, but beautiful and touching.

    My Opinion

A great Song Should have a great melody and fantastic lyrics, and this is ninedays all about.. Thats What I Love most about this band.. Another great Bittersweet song.. For Me, Yeah Its all about Love.. But I believe this situation its quite tricky for this man on this song.. Maybe that girl the one approach him, And then he start to loves her.. But I believe that person maybe already engaged or having someone that she cant do anything about it.. And that man already give up on her and try to move on but sometimes that girl still find him.. Thats Y in this lyric i "ask you why you're back to try to let me lose again".. Anyway this song just like Shakespeare sonnet.. And I admit it, Evertyimr i hear this song, I try my best to hold my tears from drop down. :)

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
