Oh, oh (oh, oh)
I just wanted you to comfort me
When I called you late last night, you see
I was falling into love
Yes, I was crashing into love
Oh, of all the words you sang to me
About life, the truth and being free
Yeah, you sang to me
Oh, how you sang to me

Girl, I live for how you make me feel
So I question all this being real
'Cause I'm not afraid to love
For the first time, I'm not afraid of love
Oh, this day seems made for you and me
And you showed me what life needs to be
Yeah, you sang to me
Oh, you sang to me

All the while you were in front of me, I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)
When you sing to me

How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you, this time I'll see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)
When you sing to me

Just to think you live inside of me
I had no idea how this could be
Now I'm crazy for your love
Can't believe I'm crazy for your love
The words you said, you sang to me
And you showed me where I want to be
You sang to me
Oh, you sang to me

All the while you were in front of me, I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)
When you sing to me

How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you, this time I'll see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)
When you sing to me

All the while you were in front of me, I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)
When you sing to me

How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you, this time I'll see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)
When you sing to me

All the while you were in front of me, I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)
When you sing to me

How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you, this time I'll see it in your eyes
I didn't see it (see it)
I can't believe it (believe it)
Oh, but I feel it (feel it)

Beat, I thought this song would fit you and I appropriately. This is the third song for you and I. I hope you find it! I love you and I would sing to you everynight forever....

Just showing some love for this song. His voice is awesome and this song is amazing. Exactly how I feel about my other half. The melody is so peaceful.

This song really touches me, I remember the video being very sweet as well. I was so naive when it came out and having a taste of what love is..."for the first time I'm not afraid to love". The lyrics talking about him realising what he had after a while are heavy and remind me of myself..."I didn't see it, I can believe it"...If only I had believed maybe things would have turned out different?...

This song is about a man who finds his muse. Her existence in his life changes him...but he doesn't realize it at first. Only once she's left does he realize that she inspired him, and this song is an ode to how she changed him. It's a romantic song, an ode to love, to how one person can come into someone elses life and make them whole.

    Song Meaning

For some reason, the very first time I heard this song, I felt that the author and singer for that matter was singing to the Virgin Mary. Even now, after heaing the song many times, I get the same interpretation. I know this is likely a love song to a mere mortal, but it just speaks more to spiritual love vs. a love affair to me. A few phrases transcend the terrestrial and spiritual like many works of art do (comfort me, question all this being real, hear you sing Beneath the clear blue skies).

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
