I kissed a drunk girl
I kissed a drunk girl yes I did
Kissed a drunk girl on the lips
I let my guard down
How could I have been so dumb?
Her eyes were open
I know I am not the one

Chorus:
I kissed a drunk girl
Why do I do these things I do to myself?
I kissed a drunk girl
And now I'm sure I could have been anybody else

I went to her house
And everybody there was gone
Her little cousin, just passed out on the lawn
We walked to my car
She mouthed "Is everything ok?"
We leaned in slowly
So now I can say

Chorus

I pulled away cause you see
I didn't think it would be right
And said "let's save this for some other night"
And she said "No, no, no, no I know that everthing's gonne be just fine"
How could I do this when I wanted her to be all mine?

Chorus

I know you don't care about me
I'm sure when all is said and done
And I go home feeling lonely
You would have had your fun
Do you even remember?

Chorus

I love this song...He is talking about kissing a girl he has feelings for when she was drunk and this kiss didn't even matter cause He could have been anybody else...I like the line "How could I do this when I wanted her to be all mine?" It has so much more to this song then just kissing a drunk girl...It is like ruining what they could have had cause " (he) I Could have been anybody else" Good song..I give it 3 stars....I love their song Walking by...

i believe this song pretty much means that he had feelings for her but she only had feelings because she was drunk and drunk people are always horny. so she never wanted anything and now he feels like complete crap because she used him just to get stuff. geez i hate when things like that happens. Everytime you drink its always someone else you can sing this song to. she lead him on, and he thought everything would be fine and that they woould wind up as a couple, but NO she just wanted a piece of that . and that in conclusion is what this song means to me.

I love this song. It's saying that he likes her a lot, like more then she likes him. And the only way she would kiss him is if she was drunk. So he does it and it kills him because he knows she didn't mean anything by it cuz she was not herself. Possibly one of the best SC songs, I just love their sound ... goodstuff.

This song is really well written. I give mad props to him. He captures this feeling quite well. Unfortunetly I've been through this situation before. It really sucks, im glad someone else has gone through the same thing. Its a comforting feeling.

I know what this song is about...I can relate to it a little too well...except I am the drunk girl! It was written about an incident in my town (or a suburb or my town)...reminds me of my wilder-party days. I just love this song though, it makes me laugh a little.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
