Queen Of The Highway Lyrics
Sign on the road said "Take us to Madre."
No one can save her save the Blind Tiger.
He was a monster, black dressed in leather.
She was a princess, Queen of the Highway.
Now they are wedded, she is a good girl.
Naked as children out in a meadow.
Naked as children, wild as can be.
Soon to have offspring
Start it all over, start it all over.
American boy, American girl
The most beautiful people in the world.
Son of a frontier, indian swirl
Dance into the midnight whirlpool
Formless.
Hope we can continue a little while longer.

hm..i remember reading somewhere that his was written about pamela, i could be wrong.

Yeah, I think I read that too.

underrated gem of morrison hotel and all of the doors songs.

This is infact about Pamela.

ya good song. sounds like he loved pam but he didn't really treat her good. nice lyrics

It talks about Pamela and about him: 'He was a monster, black dressed in leather.' referring to himself. He did not treat her very good I guess. It was a very 'free' relationship but he completely loved her no matter what. She was his girl. A while ago I read on a book about Jim that Pamela was like a really bad girl, spending all his money and not caring about him. I dont know. It was kinda shocking.

That's bullshit. Pamela loved Jim and Jim loved her. But man he went and did shit to hurt on a daily basis. Like they were going to go to a party and when they were getting in the car Jim told her she couldn't go because she'd just bring him down and he left her like at the airport or maybe at their house I can't remember. When they had an apartment together Jim went downstairs to a friends apartment where Patricia Keneally was staying and fucked her while Pam was upstairs and Pam walked in on it. And Jim laughed.... So.. There's something shocking for you Flower Girl.
This song is about Pam and him. She was his cosmic soul mate. He loved her over all others and she loved him over all others.

Strange...John Densmore (drummer) wrote in Doors biography that they screwed up this song. They didn't give a good musical background to the Morrison's lyrics (!!!)
He might be my favourite drummer, but imo he's tottaly wrong about this song...it's fantastic!

I see it as a very personal song of jim, i am dying to know how he performed it live. couldn't find it anywhere.
