"Duchess and the Proverbial Mind Spread" as written by Les Claypool, Reid L. Iii Lalonde and Bryan Kei Mantia....
Burnin', I feel a burnin' in my stomach,
I want to know if I'm a gonna make it.
If I don't just spread my ashes,
If I do just spread your mind.

Swimmin', I see myself a treadin' water
I see no signs of any other people.
There's a heron up above me
I lay back and spread my mind.

Duchess, she used to be a movie maker.
She used to like to watch the boys watch her.
And she saved enough money
To go to cal and spread her mind.

Billy, used to follow the dead with arnie
And they made a hundred thousand dollars.
But ended up in federal prison
Twenty years for spreading minds.

General CommentACID. This song is about acid. "ended up in federal prison twenty years for spreading minds." Or "i feel is burnin' in my stomach" or "swimmin', i see myself a treadin' water/i see no signs of any other people" OR "I lay back and spread my mind." "The Dead" is (if your so damn music ignorant) THE GRATEFUL DEAD. Back in the sixties acid just hit and ya know possession of acid over 4 hits is 10 years. Awesome bassline as always.

General CommentNo, sir, not even close. Meth is more for rednecks, anyway. A good place to go for your questions about drugs and such is Erowid.com.

    - that tends to lean towards the suggestion that's it's the effects of acid he's most likely talking about. It's obviously not stated though.

General Commentits certainly a psychodelic drug referenced song, but i would say its mushrooms rather than acid...i would imagine a 'burning' stomach refers to the cramps associated with digesting shrooms, while acid has no physical effect
