Bomb The Town Lyrics
I see the path of affectation
it's easy to get back to a blur
of countless inspired revelations Ah Yeah
so now go into a quiet meditative state
invoke the 13th ray the vibration
it'll give you a transformation
and will serve as initiation
then confusion gives way to flash of light
that moment is the thing I'll always treasure
mediocrity should never get it right but they might
amid the fractals and the combinations
of the signs it's not hard to find
patterns that flow bright
and the bluest light
now enhanced with your crystal sight
it will be wicked
get your ticket
bomb the town
with a sound
shakes the ground
everybody
it will be wicked
get your ticket
bomb the town
with a sound
shakes the ground
everybody get down
to swim through around me now
a bigger task to hold location
then to swim upstream some how
is a skill upon itself these days
the overflowing things for you to see
others talk you out of doing your way Ye-ah
and tech-remote viewing
so you're all-knowing right
answer me how the future will be
is it the end or just the beginning
follow me
then confusion gives way to flash of light
next your gonna find blissful pleasure
in a freedom reigning through blissful foresight Ye-ah
feel the love let it soothe thee
send ya to bliss with all the wisdom
of the sweetest kiss
world that you know
sacred temple
is what you're given
receive the medicine
it will be wicked
get your ticket
bomb the town
with a sound
shakes the ground
everybody
it will be wicked
get your ticket
bomb the town
with a sound
shakes the ground
everybody get down
to swim through around me now
a bigger task to hold location
then to swim upstream some how
it will be wicked
get your ticket
bomb the town
with a sound
shakes the ground
everybody

This is a loaded 311 song! Nick starts it out by explaining his sense of how many lives 311 has affected, and not just affected but inspired and caused revelations in fans.
Then SA gets DEEP with his verses. I don't know much about the 13th ray of vibrations, but I've googled it before. It's mainly about initiation or the beginning of a spiritual journey to higher consciousness.
The chorus can probably be interpreted in many ways (311 likes to do this). What I got from it is that the stupid currents are the life events/circumstances that you have to "swim" through or around. "A bigger task to hold location than to swim upstream somehow" explains how learning from your life circumstances and ascending/evolving/becoming more aware as a person is easier than a life of repeated mistakes and misfortunes.
I really love how many levels of understanding are possible when listening to 311. As we are all on our own path "swimming upstream" listening to 311's songs will have different meaning for everyone. But my God I have never heard a band speak so much truth. I encourage fans to pick apart the songs. That's why I'm here.

This song makes a lot of references to the feelings associated with a mushroom trip.

faye...a lot of 311's songs around this time deal with the subject of enlightenment, so i think you might be right, it also seems to have connections to perhaps mushrooms too, perhaps mushrooms brought on the thought/ideals of enlightenment? who knows

this song is truley about the revalations in a trip of many kinds. not just mushrooms. bt it is all so true."mediocracy should never get it right but they might" smart people trip and have revalations our futuristic ideas that a lesser brain would not experience. 311 are obviously on some megaknowledge.

This song is all about coming with such great songs. and how the people will be affected by your vibes and tunes. such a great song..nick hexum is brilliant

sorry but its Phusion - Love Insanity

wrong song...sorry

these lyrics are awesome, but this is pure wisdom: The art of remaining free is a skill upon itself these days amen brotha

well, it sounds to me like S.A. is talking about some kinda of transformation from this phase of our minds as humans into the next phase, what some call 'enlightenment', whatever word you want to use. i'll go into more detail next time i'm drunk.

this song is one of my favorites. i love it when both nick and miT are playing guitar
