Life could slip away in absent minded numbness
I'm only sayin this 'cuz I wish for the best
When you always stay in self-incarceration
I thinks it's such a shame

Don't stay home this time no don't stay home
If he don't have to he don't want to
Don't stay home this time no don't say no

Oh how I'd like to diffuse your time bomb anger
It's screaming danger danger this kind of world
Don't care if you're home so you better get some

Don't stay home this time no don't stay home
If he don't have to he don't want to
Don't stay home this time no don't say no

Everything I'm sayin' you can dismiss
Because I sat alone on this past Christmas
I deserved to be alone
But I guess I should have gone home

Hey don't break the mold kid just eat around it
Yeah that's what I did
I'll be running around the block
For no apparent reason
Somethin' you'll catch me doin' in any season
Gotta break a sweat man gotta go bust out
Biddy by by by by
Good-bye to the drought, yea

Don't stay home this time no don't stay home
If he don't have to he don't want to
Don't stay home this time no don't say no
Don't stay home this time no don't stay home
If he don't have to he don't want to
Don't stay home this time no don't stay home

This song is about not letting life go by you without going out and doing what you wanna do. Cause you'll regret it later. The worst thing ever is looking back on your life and saying "damn, i wish i would've tried that, or done this" Live your life to it's fullest.

the key word in this song is "home." for me it connotes a certain confinement may it be physical or mental. this song encourages adventure and exploration of the richness that is life. if youre a home buddy all your life for example. this song gives you a kick in the noggin, saying go out and go wild, youre missing out on life. on the other hand "home" may also mean a certain closemindedness that keeps you from apprecieating the different and the strange. so the chorus says: "don't stay home." That's deep! 311 rocks man!

Well since this is my favorite song in the whole wide world and im the first person to write about it, I will say that this song changed my music tastes forever it gave me a whole new positive outlook on life and I can listen to it forever and not get tired of it. And everytime i hear the first drum part to it I get a smile on my face and when he starts singing I get an even bigger one.

i'd say this song is about having strict parents who don't let you go out a lot. and you just feel like tired of it and go out anyway.

i think this lyric..."Hey don't break the mold kid just eat around it, yeah that's what I did" says how 311 didnt really break into the mainstream with their style of music when they started, they slowly made the niche in peoples cd/tape collections by gaining there fan base by "not staying home". i think the song says go out and make a name for yourself, dont wait for it

this was the first 311 song that caught my attention, in my opinion it's their best, the sound is so tight

This song was my inspiration to break out of my shell, go out and be more social.. "Life could Slip away in absent minded numbness" "This kind of world don't care if you're home" and "Hey don't break the mold kid, just eat around it, yeah that's what I did.." Those lines say to me: Don't let the time slip away and miss the opportunity to make good memories. The world isn't going to come in and revamp your social life. You just have to get out there and be you.. Do your own thing, do what you like, and you'll be happy.

The music itself rocks, but the lyrics are ridiculously genius just like all of 311's songs.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
