"She's As Beautiful As A Foot" as written by and Bouchard/meltzer/lanier....
She's as beautiful as a foot
She's as beautiful as a foot
She heard somebody say, the other day

Didn't believe it when he bit into her face
Didn't believe it when he bit into her face
It tasted just like a fallen arch

She's as beautiful as a foot
She's as beautiful as a foot
She heard somebody say, the other day

Don't put your tongue on the bloody tooth mark place
Don't put your tongue on the bloody tooth mark place
Her face changing now, a guernsey cow

She's as beautiful, oh so beautiful, beautiful as a foot
She heard someone say, the other day

General CommentWas listening to this the other day. Given the timing I would posit that this is about serial killer/foot and shoe fetishist Jerry Brudos. He was active around 1969, the right time for this lyric to have been conceived.

General CommentBasically there's this girl that is ugly and overhears someone saying as much. Then a guy bites her face and she turns into a cow. I'm guessing some serious drugs went into the writing of this song.

It's probably my favorite on their first album and Albert Bouchard makes this song with his drumming. I can't believe he was kicked out of the band.

My InterpretationThis is actually my boyfriend's interpretation. I've been listening to this song all week, and just this morning he had a shower epiphany that might explain some of the lyrics.

She's as beautiful as a foot- that line is basically saying that she's ugly.
...When he bit into her face, it tasted just like a fallen arch.- the fallen arch is a reference to a certain fast food chain that makes people so fat and unhealthy. Basically saying, you are what you eat, and she's eaten so many greasy hamburgers she tastes just like the food she's gotten so fat and disgusting off of.
Essentially, then she turns into a disgusting cow woman.

You could think of it too, from the perspective of someone who has an eating disorder. Anorexic people often are paranoid about other people thinking they are fat and ugly, so it could be all in some girls mind that she is fat and ugly and therefore thinks she hears people saying stuff about her like "she's as beautiful as a foot."..and she's saying these lyrics to herself to remind herself not eat and become a disgusting cow.
As for the cannabalistic/ vampiric references - References to eating someone in literature are often sexual metaphors. This especially makes sense in the context of the song from point of view of the paranoid anorexic girl. She thinks she's unattractive, so if any guy "tastes" her sexually, he's going to find the experience disgusting and not going to want to "taste" her again and will tell everyone else that she's repulsive to sleep with. ("Don't put your tongue on the bloody tooth mark place.")

General CommentNo clue what the song is about. But always loved how it was the "closer" to every BOC show I saw (6 or 7 times--it's a little fuzzy) After the encore, She's As Beautiful As a Foot would come on as the lights came up. It was the signal to try and move toward an exit.

My InterpretationRichard Meltzer wrote it to annoy Les Braunstein, who was the singer at the time. The two didn't get along and Braunstein was rather pretentious and hated performing it. After Eric Bloom replaced Braunstein they continued to do the song because they thought it was amusing. Most bands at the time had a few funny novelty songs in their repertoire as well.

General CommentI don't know if 'beautiful as a foot' means she's ugly. Sounds more like a fetish or something. I looked it up and 'Fallen arch' is another word for flat feet.

I think it means just what it says. Someone says she's as beautiful as a foot, and bites into her face. Her face probably doesn't really turn into a cow's, though. It's just swollen.
