The Pixies even had the grace to be the first band to use a theramin since 'Good Vibrations', and they had the shirts to match, too. So embroiled in surf lore had Black Francis become that one song 'Ana' was a rare instance of a rock 'n' roll acrostic, wherein the first letters of it's six lines spelt a word: SURFER. Really clever bastard."

    General CommentI think that Ana is a reference to Santa Ana winds that blow from the sea over Southern California. They're supposed to create really great waves for the surfers. Or so I've heard.
