Mm. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Late in September,
The mem'ries I can't erase
That shivered through Autumn,
The memory of your face.
As I grow much older, I wonder
Whatever I could have done
To fight all the madness.
But I close my eyes
To find truth in what I'm saying.
They thought it was all a lie.
How could they deny it
When I was just a little child?

Secrets I kept inside me,
No one can understand;
Secrets I had to hide,
'cause no one would hold my hand.
Well, secrets for me to know
And never for you to see;
Secrets for only me.

Emotions so bother my soul
To know that I felt such pain
I thought it would go far away
It did for the moment
Bind truth in what I'm saying
They thought it was all a lie
How could they deny it
When I was just a child?
Babe, come one now.

Secrets I kept inside me,
No one can understand;
Secrets I had to hide,
'cause no one would hold my hand.
Well, secrets for me to know
And never for you to see;
Secrets for only me.

The little ones they could not escape
The pain and misery.
Would no one ever set them free?
Why do you pretend to see
All the pain they had to go through?
Can't you hear them cry to you.

Secrets I kept inside me,
No one can understand;
Secrets I had to hide,
'cause no one would hold my hand.
Secrets for me to know
Never for you to see;
Secrets for only me.

Secrets I kept inside me,
No one can understand;
Secrets I had to hide,
'cause no one would hold my hand.
Secrets for me to know
Never for you to see;
Secrets for only me.

Oh, babies crying,
People are dying;
There's secrets inside their heart.
Oh yeah oh yeah
Come on
Come on and sing with me

Secrets I kept inside me,
No one can understand;
Secrets I had to hide,
'cause no one would hold my hand.
Secrets for me to know
Never for you to see;
Secrets for only me.

Secrets I
I know
There's nobody up in here
That can hear the cries I hear
Inside my mind
But I cry

    This is about girls in abusive relationships, which Anastacia was in. She's saying that she was just a child, meaning young, and this man took advantage of her. Shee loved him, though, so she kept those secretes inside of her and let know one know the pain she was going through. She's telling other people to be strong and make yourslef happy as soon as possible if theyre in the same situation.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
