I Saw Her Again Lyrics
And you know that I shouldn't
To string her along's just not right
If I couldn't I wouldn't
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me
Now she thinks that I love her
Because that's what I said
Though I never think of her
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me
You know I wanna lay down and die
But I really need that girl
Don't know why I'm livin' a lie
It makes me wanna cry
And you know that I shouldn't
To string her along's just not right
If I couldn't I wouldn't
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me
You know I wanna lay down and die
But I really need that girl
Don't know why I'm livin' a lie
It makes me wanna cry
And you know that I shouldn't
To string her along's just not right
If I couldn't I wouldn't
I'm in way over my head
Now she thinks that I love her
Because that's what I said
Though I never think of her

Btw, the part near the end of the song when Denny comes in too early with "I Saw Her" was a mistake! But it worked so well they left it in. John Lennon was amazed and could not believe it wasn't planned.

to correct laety, i was actually just watching a special on the mamas and the papas and it showed different interviews of the song: lumosnox90 is right... john found out the michelle and denny were having an affair so john made denny write the song with him and the punishment was that they each had to sing that song together on stage... and it actually ended the affair... go john... the man is brilliant

hahaha go john!!!! He wrote this song to get back at dear old dennis who was then forced to sing it every night!!!!! I love it!

I adore the basis recording technique - even down to the early singing entry in the final verse

oops!! "basic recording technique" I meant

actually Denny wrote this song about Michelle. He just wanted a fling with her, whereas she took their "relationship" more seriously than he did.

Great song

Pretty much a very narcissistic and opportunistic view of a sexual relationship.
My opinion, only.
