i am not a huge fan of the Dandy Warhols but i love Kim Deal so i love this song.

He isn't insulting Kim Deal or being sarcastic. He's saying he wants a girl as cool as Kim Deal. Seemingly because he thinks it would make him cool (which he cares more about than being loved), so it's pretty shallow and self-deprecating.
