this song just broke my heart. ive had the city of angels soundtrack since the seventh grade and i listened to this song for the first time in years today. its like i was meant to rediscover it today when i need it the most. ugghhhhh.
I've been listening to Jude since high school. He's one of the best virtually unknown artists out there, in my opinion. He might get a little more attention now that this song's been featured on House. I love the way this song is almost a waltz. "Your best friend in life is not your mirror"...

this so is a very pretty song ,it makes me think why people hide their face, who they really truely are.....its a shame but its a great song
My friend bought this cd yesterday because she love this song so she played it for me and it is one the most beautiful songs I have ever heard but made me sad at the same time.
Now everyone; this is my 'soulmate' song. I first heard it when I bought the "City of Angels" soundtrack and from then on was only song I've fallen in love with. Sometimes I wonder if the lyrics addressed to you are coming from your actual soulmate or from God. Romantically beautiful!
I can't believe there are only 3 (now 4) comments on this breathtaking song. The meaning of it is quite obvious: The singer tries to convince a loved one to overcome the doubts she/he has about herself/himself and stop hiding behind a facade. I love the line "Your best friend in life is not your mirror" because it's so simple and naive, yet so true. The way Jude sings the song fits perfectly into the whole uncertainty theme of it: Very vulnerable, fragile and desperate, yet determined. What can I say? To me this song is a masterpiece.
ok now im bak here coz i found out that there is an extended version of this song....the middle verse. OMG!!
A dear friend sent me this song while chatting on messenger. We're both very analytical people which includes song lyrics and such. When i first heard it due to my feelings for my friend i assumed she was trying to tell me something along the lines of something romantic but the only line that could support that is "I'll be with you 'til we grow old, 'Til I'm in the ground and I'm cold". Really i feel it's about someone telling someone else that simply they will be there for them forever. A simple but universally beautiful message.
such a beautiful song. i think it embodies what it is to Love someone. Incredible.
