I was dancing with your shadow
Slow down memories hall
I said wait have I been seduced and forgotten
You said baby haven't we all

Now I don't like crying
Because it only gets me wet
But I can't help failing
To remember to forget you
And I know it's gonna be a long time

And I'm crying like a church on Monday
Praying for these feelings to go away
So do me a favor baby
Put down your new God
And love me like Sunday again

I was hiding in your bedroom
When I saw him come inside
I can't live in his shadow
Is that where I'm dancing until I die

Now I don't like candles
Because they make me see the light
That I can't help failing
To remember to forget you
And I know it's gonna be a long time

And I'm crying like a church on Monday
Praying for these feelings to go away
So do me a favor baby
Put down your new God
And love me like Sunday again
There ain't no use in trying to stop me

I love the use of the metaphors! i've actually known people who are like, "i don't get it....what does crying like a church on monday mean???" -think about it- what could could possibly be more EMPTY -literally- than a church on monday? he knows that crying "only gets him wet" b/c he feels that his tears are being ignored by his lover. i think when he says he "doesn't light candles, b/c make him "see the light" means that reality hits him, and he would rather live in hopes that his lover will come back to him......-the song is incredible, and i'd probably be a complete sucker for it!

This is one of my favorite songs...so sad, but so descriptive. I love the symbolism and especially the line "dancing with your shadow, slow, down memorie's hall!" So great.
This song makes me cry even after hearing it for the millionth time.
The saddest breakup song of all time. Love this band. I must thank my x for turning me on to it. It did not help me get over him, however!

Wow, I can't believe whoever submitted the lyrics got the title wrong.

haha, yeah, especially since the whole point is that it's a church on MONDAY, not Sunday when it's all full of people.

i can't help failing to remember to forget you, this song is just so honest and it's about that dual thinking you have, that's contradictory; you pray for those feelings you have for this person to go away, but at the same time you just want this person to be back... i absolutely love this song ♥

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
