Our love is rock steady
Rock steady, rock steady
Rock steady
Our love is rock steady
Rock steady

Love is like a punishment
Home girl here to represent
So innocently you seem to come my way
While Tinkerbell and Cupid play
They sit there and laugh
I sit here and I can't believe my eyes
You found me at last
But wait and see how it'll agonize

A real love survives a rock steady vibe
A real love survives a rock steady vibe

Rock steady, rock steady
Our love is so rock steady
Rock steady

Steady now, stop rocking it
It's a delicate environment
Retire the sleeping is a Shanti love
Be careful now don't wake it up
It's never gonna last
It's never gonna make it back alive
So how can we relax
I really hope that we will actually survive

A real love survives a rock steady vibe
A real love survives a rock steady vibe

It's never gonna last
It's never gonna make it back alive
So how can we relax
I really hope that we will actually survive

A real love survives a rock steady vibe
A real love survives a rock steady vibe

Rock steady
Our love is so rock steady
Rock steady, rock steady

I think this song is about a relationship where two people are in love, and the woman (Gwen Stefani) in the relationship is telling the man to stop questioning their love. She is saying that they shouldn't read into it too much, but to take it for what it is. Like, they've made it this far, so stop trying to question it, i.e. "rock"-ing it. She's just glad they've met, she's not looking much farther into the future than that. She believes the love won't last, even though she hopes it will. She also seems to believe that their love goes up and down between problems and being just fine-"steady"-and that a real love can overcome even the biggest problems. I think this song is about her hopes that their love can survive the "rock steady vibe"-the not so steady, more or less turbulent times.

Love is rocksteady, it's something that lasts and withstands almost anything. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it's easy to be in love, with love come so many doubts, questions, situations, and problems here and there. Regardless of it being rocksteady, it is very delicate. Any little thing that happens could damage and rock it and make one think "it's never gonna last," and "hope that it actually survives"...and it does when it is true love.

This song sort of describes how I feel about someone (who shall remain nameless.) I also agree with what the rest of you said about it.

This song acctually is very self explanitory when you think about it. It basically is trying to describe how one can feel insecure about their love because of the many problems they have. Shes basically saying that the only way they'll survive this is if they 'stop rocking it' because theyre in a 'delacate environment'. But she really hopes that through everything, their love will survive.

"You found me at last but wait and see how it'll agonize"

    Incorrect.

"You found me at least/ But we're too human to see the way we'll agonize"

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
