It's Called A Heart Lyrics
This song is such a masterpiece, I can't even begin to start...
When I listen to it, I see it as a negative song about relationship abuse by females in a partnership. I know its poppy as hell, but look at the title: Its called a Heart. That implies that whoever the narrator is speaking to, has NO IDEA what on earth this passion-center is! "You know how easy it is to tear it apart". Obviously the girl is no stranger to hurting men when they show their feelings towards her. The narrator was honest and "spoke from his heart" and yet he got hurt by his lover. Such a powerful and completely relatable tune.
Maybe this is just my interpretation with my experiences as a bias, but I really found solace from the words to this song. If I ever met Martin Gore, I'd tell him how happy I am that he wrote a song that I can so greatly relate to. I absolutely adore womankind, but many do have the ability to hurt us men emotionally. = [ (This can just as easily happen in reverse. Men can also hurt women emotionally, I just found it the way I did because it was written by a male with a male singing)
One of the best in my opinion, and I dunno what the meaning is, but ^^ summed it up for what I couldve said.
great song.
Alan Wilder's less favourite song.
It's a bit too synth-poppy for that period, between Some Great Reward and Black Celebration, way out of what they were doing, IMHO.
It's about being on guard to let yourself love again after having gotten your heart broken before.
