how is it you feel?
I remember you at the top of my room
all these things we wondered how to hide
see how it works when
all the day long in a bottle of mud
all these fears we wondered how to hide our love

how is it you feel when you run?
ships won't come in in a bottle of mud
all this time looking for love and
you want to find peace
but you find me

mandrary fields where we run
see how it works with a bottle of rum
all this time hiding from death
and we want to be strong
but we find the true story
a tale
writing itself as we sail
a story
a tale
writing itself as we wail
oh no

never again my dear
shall we come dancing here
we'll play guitar and video games

what if we refused to follow the rules of fashion?
tell me something you'd tell a fool
ways to refuse to follow the rules of fashion

how is it you feel when?
remember you in the top of my room
all these things remade me and caused
to be something grand

never again shall we
come dancing in the sea
we'll play guitar for a new (2x)
we'll play guitar and video games

you hide your love for someone from the outside, they say you can't love them. they say it's not allowed, and you fake it, play video games, video games are innocent

something passionate that fell apart, maybe didn't work...now, desperately trying to salvage something older, something more simple and pure.

i agree with pumpkinator, but i think that its also about how you spend time being friends with someone to try to get them to like you, and eventually they do, but then when the relationship ends you just wish that you could go back to when you were simple friends and played "guitar and video games" together

im leaving a lot of song interpretations right now because im in a thinking mood. so here goes for this one.

how is it you feel? ----how do you feel about your life? I remember you at the top of my room all these things we wondered how to hide ------we were ashamed of who we really were see how it works when all the day long in a bottle of mud------see how life is when you stifle yourself with shame and doubt all these fears we wondered how to hide our love

how is it you feel when you run?----do you really feel good when you try to deny yourself? ships won't come in in a bottle of mud----bottle of mud is a metaphor for actions that obscure who you really are----ships wont come in-----nothing is achieved when you act like this all this time looking for love and-----you spend your time trying to achieve a romanticized conventional ideal type of life

you want to find peace but you find me

mandrary fields where we run see how it works with a bottle of rum--same kind of imagery as before

all this time hiding from death and we want to be strong but we find the true story a tale writing itself as we sail------life is unpredictable---life happens as you live it a story a tale writing itself as we wail oh no

never again my dear shall we come dancing here--------let's not pretend and try to live up to other people's standards of what we should be doing....trying to posture and impress people

we'll play guitar and video games-----we can take pleasure in the simple things in life

what if we refused to follow the rules of fashion?-----would it be so bad to be ourselves, despite other people finding distate in it?

tell me something you'd tell a fool ways to refuse to follow the rules of fashion

how is it you feel when? remember you in the top of my room all these things remade me and caused to be something grand

never again shall we come dancing in the sea we'll play guitar for a new (2x) we'll play guitar and video games

anyway i didnt feel like doing every line...but i think the song is about being true to yourself and not trying to live up to other people's perceptions of who you are, or their expectations of who you should be.

I think the writer is reminiscing about simpler times, when he didn't have obligations and he could play video games all day. However many lines I don't get, like "ships won't come in in a bottle of mud."

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
