Uneasy feeling, burning out my eyes
I hope the end is less painful than my life
I stand on trial before the gods
On judgement day
A blink of an eye between
The cradle and the grave

One last look at visions of flesh
The last best hope of man on Earth
Pontius Pilate still washing his hands
The world don't want to be saved
Only left alone

Elysian Fields...
We are storming the heavens
We raise the swords and shields
We ascend to our destiny
To the Elysian Fields

Soaring to the sun
With blood upon their wings
Superstitious dust left twisting in the wind
Man still has one belief,
One decree that stands alone
The laying down of arms
Is like cancer to their bones

The song has a religious meaning to it.

One last look at visions of flesh The last best hope of man on Earth Pontius Pilate still washing his hands The world don't want to be saved Only left alone

This is when Jesus was on trial. Pontious pilot washed his hands before deciding to put Jesus' life to an end.

It's also about destiny. The elysian fields is heaven.

We are storming the heavens We raise the swords and shields We ascend to our destiny To the Elysian Fields

It can also have the meaning of war. How fighters fight for their land and freedom and most of them die in battle and go to the elysian fields which is heaven.

I know the Elysian Fields as the place un Hell where the heroes and the virtuous go to rest for eternity, in Greek Mythology. But I like how every meanings here are different, yet really interesting.

I think it is a kind of mix of ideas.

The Elysian fields isn't exactly heaven, it is like the greek/roman heaven, but not. If I'm not mistaken, it more heavily rewards heroism in war. which makes it perfect for the premise of this song, which is that humans are violent by nature and reject salvation from christ.

The first verse illustrates how humanity has rejected god and instead chosen sin. The second verse paints a picture of humans charging upon heaven to bring war to against god, as if we could take our salvation instead of earning it. It is a kind of lyric that highlights our stubbornness. That if we would just live good lives, we could eliminate so much pain and suffering, but humans instead tend to want to fight and resort to violence and sin.

I know it is an incredibly christian message, and that this is before Dave was oficially born again... but to me this song is obviously saying these things... I think it was a sort of precursor to Dave turning into a Bible Banger.

Christianity says Jesus was sacrificed for man's sins. A sacrifice for a new begining. I think the song dipicts how man still sins against man, hence "the world don't want to be saved" verse. Very deep song which to me is describing how man continues to defy God.

Its about It is in Men's nature to fight, and wars will never be ended. And because of this when men is accepted into heaven it will try and take over heaven

elysium fields are a place of green fields of tranquility where people go when they die if they've been good in life, according to roman mythology!

    Song Meaning

The Elysian Fields, or the Elysian Plains, were the final resting place of the souls of the heroic and the virtuous.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Another Love
Tom Odell
I think the meaning is pretty clear. This person got really burned in a previous relationship, and because of this is unable to love and show care in his present one, even though he so badly wants to. It's lovely song, and very sad. You can really feel how defeated and frustrated he is with himself.
